BMW programming at Spot-On covers the DME (engine control module), transmission control module, ABS, SRS/airbag module, instrument cluster, and the body controllers, including CAS, FEM and FRM, using BMW ISTA. That means flash programming after a module replacement, variant coding, cloning and virginizing of used modules, software corrections, and EEPROM-level module repair when a unit needs bench work rather than a flash. There are three ways to get BMW programming done. Repair shops, body and collision shops, transmission shops and dealerships around San Antonio can book mobile dispatch: a 20-mile travel radius is included, and a $2.50/mi round-trip charge applies beyond 20 miles. Shops anywhere in the United States can use remote J2534 programming (Autel Remote Expert and similar) with their own pass-through device on the car. Modules that need bench work, such as a DME for ISN retrieval or an FRM for data recovery, ship to us as mail-in bench service, available across the US and Canada.

Do you do BMW programming for shops outside San Antonio?
Yes. Inside the San Antonio area we dispatch to the shop; a 20-mile travel radius is included and a $2.50/mi round-trip charge applies beyond it. Farther out, most shops use remote J2534 programming, where we run BMW ISTA through your pass-through device over the internet, nationwide. Modules that need bench-level work, such as DME ISN retrieval or FRM recovery, can be mailed in from anywhere in the US or Canada.
Can you retrieve the ISN from a BMW DME?
Yes. DME ISN retrieval is a bench-level, boot-mode read of the immobilizer secret number stored in the DME. It is needed when a DME is replaced or a used DME is swapped in, and it is one of the BMW specialties on file here. Shops can mail the DME in from anywhere in the US or Canada; vehicle owners book in-shop by appointment.
Can a BMW FRM be recovered after a battery disconnect?
Often, yes. The FRM (footwell module) can lose its EEPROM data after an abrupt battery disconnect, and we reconstruct that data at the bench rather than replacing the module. This is one of the BMW specialties on file here. Shops can send the FRM as mail-in bench service; BMW owners book in-shop by appointment at our San Antonio shop.

Schertz, Selma, Universal City, Converse, Live Oak, Cibolo, Helotes and Leon Valley are inside our included 20-mile travel radius, so trade dispatch carries no trip charge. Boerne, Bulverde, New Braunfels, Seguin, San Marcos, Floresville and Pleasanton are beyond our 20-mile included travel radius; a $2.50/mi round-trip charge applies. For Marion, La Vernia, Spring Branch, St. Hedwig, Fair Oaks Ranch, Grey Forest and Elmendorf, the included 20-mile radius is measured by road from our shop; we confirm at booking whether an address falls inside it or carries the $2.50/mi round-trip charge. Kerrville, Fredericksburg, Lockhart, Luling, Hondo, Pearsall, Jourdanton, Karnes City and Kenedy are farther out: at this distance most shops choose remote J2534 programming or mail-in bench service; mobile dispatch is available and quoted per mile.
