Porsche programming at Spot-On runs on Porsche PIWIS. That covers the ECM, TCM, ABS, SRS/airbag module, instrument cluster and body controllers on the 911, Cayenne, Macan, Panamera and Taycan: flash programming after module replacement, component coding and adaptations, cloning and virginizing of used modules, software corrections, and EEPROM-level module repair at the bench.
Three ways to get Porsche programming done. Repair shops, body and collision shops and dealerships in the San Antonio area book mobile dispatch: a 20-mile travel radius is included, and a $2.50/mi round-trip charge applies beyond 20 miles. Shops elsewhere in the United States use remote J2534 programming through their own pass-through device. Modules that need the bench come in as mail-in bench service, available across the US and Canada. Porsche owners: this is in-shop work, by appointment, at 4715 N Stahl Park, Suite 105, San Antonio, TX 78217. We do not dispatch mobile service to vehicle owners.
SFD remote unlock and SFD2 remote unlock.
SFD is the security-gateway protection Volkswagen Group put on 2020 and newer platforms — Porsche, Audi and VW — that has to be authenticated and unlocked before most module programming will run. Spot-On does SFD remote unlock over the internet, through your shop's J2534 pass-through device, nationwide: we open the gateway remotely and the programming goes through, with no mobile visit required.
SFD2 remote unlock is the same service for the second-generation SFD on the newest Porsche, Audi and VW platforms, which carries a higher authorization tier than the original SFD. We deliver SFD2 remote unlock remotely as well, so a shop working on the latest vehicles can get the gateway opened and the module programmed without sending the car back to the dealer. SFD remote unlock and SFD2 remote unlock are trade services, run through the shop's equipment; they are also available in-shop as part of a Porsche programming appointment for owners.
Do you do Porsche programming?
Yes. Porsche programming at Spot-On runs on Porsche PIWIS — flash programming after module replacement, component coding and adaptations, cloning and virginizing of used modules, and software corrections across the ECM, TCM, ABS, SRS/airbag module, instrument cluster and body controllers, for the 911, Cayenne, Macan, Panamera and Taycan. Porsche owners book in-shop by appointment; shops book mobile dispatch, remote J2534 programming, or mail-in bench service.
Can you do SFD remote unlock on a Porsche?
Yes. SFD is the security-gateway protection on 2020 and newer VW Group platforms, Porsche included, that has to be unlocked before most module programming. We do SFD remote unlock over the internet through your shop's pass-through device, nationwide — no mobile visit required — and then run the programming through PIWIS.
Do you do SFD2 remote unlock?
Yes. SFD2 is the second-generation SFD on the newest Porsche, Audi and VW platforms, with a higher authorization tier than the original SFD. We do SFD2 remote unlock remotely, the same way as SFD remote unlock, so shops on the latest platforms can get the gateway opened and the module programmed without waiting on the dealer.
Do you do Porsche programming for shops outside San Antonio?
Yes. Around San Antonio we dispatch to the shop — a 20-mile travel radius is included, with a $2.50/mi round-trip charge beyond it. Farther out, most shops use remote J2534 programming, which is also how SFD remote unlock and SFD2 remote unlock are delivered, nationwide. Bench work is mail-in from anywhere in the US or Canada.

Helotes, Leon Valley, Schertz, Selma, Universal City, Converse, Live Oak and Cibolo are inside our included 20-mile travel radius, so trade dispatch carries no trip charge. Boerne, New Braunfels, Bulverde, Seguin, San Marcos, Pleasanton and Floresville are beyond our 20-mile included travel radius; a $2.50/mi round-trip charge applies.
