Modern vehicles rely on lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise, and blind-spot monitoring — all of which depend on sensors aimed and calibrated to OEM tolerance. When mounting is disturbed and calibration is skipped, those systems silently misbehave: lane-keep drifts, AEB fires late or not at all.

Do I need ADAS calibration after a windshield replacement?

Yes, if your vehicle has a forward-facing camera mounted behind the windshield, which is the case for most vehicles with lane-keep assist or automatic emergency braking. New glass changes the camera’s view by a small amount, and the manufacturer procedure calls for ADAS calibration after the replacement. The glass installer replaces the windshield; we perform the calibration in-shop, by appointment, and confirm the camera is aimed to factory tolerance.

Static or dynamic calibration — which one?

It depends on the vehicle and the sensor. Static calibration is done in the shop with the car parked on a level floor in front of manufacturer-specified targets. Dynamic calibration is a road drive at set speeds while the scan tool teaches the sensor its position. Many vehicles require both, in a set order. We follow the manufacturer’s calibration procedure for your exact vehicle rather than picking one, so you do not have to decide — just book the appointment.

Yes. Will a warning light tell me if my ADAS needs calibration?

Not reliably. A camera or radar that is bolted in place but aimed slightly off will often set no fault code and no dash warning — the system still works, just against the wrong reference. That is why manufacturer procedures require ADAS calibration after the repair itself, not after a symptom appears. If your windshield, bumper, suspension or a sensor was recently replaced and nobody performed a calibration, book one; if a lane-keep or cruise warning is already on, book one sooner.
