Second-opinion diagnostics
before you authorize the work.

Bring the paperwork from the dealer or another shop to Spot-On in San Antonio. We perform second-opinion diagnostics at our shop, by appointment only at 4715 N Stahl Park, Suite 105. Dealers frequently quote module replacement when the actual fix is programming, a security access procedure, or a bench-level repair that costs a fraction. We verify what is actually wrong before you authorize expensive work.

The pattern is consistent.

After 15+ years of doing this, certain misdiagnoses come up over and over. None of it is the dealer doing anything wrong on purpose — it’s scope. Dealers turn volume; diagnostic depth lives somewhere else.

  • Module replacement quoted for a software issueMany "failed module" diagnoses are actually a programming gap or a security access state — the module is fine.
  • Transmission replacement quoted for a TCM cloneMost modern transmission "failures" are control module issues. A TCM clone often resolves the symptom at a fraction of replacement cost.
  • Engine replacement quoted for a wiring or sensor issueA driveability complaint that traced to a single connector or ground point.
  • Parts-cannon work that didn’t solve the problemYou’ve already paid for two or three "this might be it" replacements and the symptom is still there.

The more we know up front, the faster we work.

  • Every estimate and invoiceFrom the dealer, prior shops, parts receipts.
