Bottom line up front: if you're a vehicle owner, no — we don't dispatch to homes or residential driveways. Spot-On is an appointment-based specialty shop. You bring the vehicle to us. This is the single most common question we get, so here's the honest, complete answer: why we work this way, and how to get your vehicle handled.
The short version
We're not a general mobile mechanic. We're a specialist shop that does the deep diagnostic, programming, and calibration work most general shops — and often the dealer — can't. That work is built around a controlled shop environment. We do run mobile dispatch, but it's reserved for professional trade partners: other repair shops, body shops, and fleets. If that's you, skip to the bottom.
Why we don't do driveway service — the real reasons
We'll be straight with you, because you'll hear other mobile guys say they'll program anything in your driveway. Some of that is true — a simple module flash can physically be done almost anywhere. But the work we're known for can't be, and doing it wrong is worse than not doing it at all.
ADAS calibration needs a controlled bay. Calibrating the cameras and radar behind your safety systems — lane keeping, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise — requires a level floor, controlled lighting, and target distances measured to the manufacturer's exact spec. A sloped driveway with sun hitting the camera can produce a calibration that looks finished but leaves your car misjudging distances at 70 mph. We won't put our name on that.
Bench and chip-level work lives at the shop. Module cloning, EEPROM repair, and a lot of immobilizer work run on equipment that sits on our bench, not in a van.
And part of it is a choice. We decided to be a specialist shop instead of a general mobile service. Concentrating the hard work in one controlled place is how we keep the quality where it is. We'd rather do it right than do it in a driveway.
So how do I get my vehicle serviced?
By appointment, at the shop:
- Call (210) 439-7905 or reach out through this site.
- Tell us what's going on — the symptom, any warning lights, and the year/make/model. The more you tell us up front, the better we can prep before you arrive.
- Bring it in at your scheduled time. If the vehicle isn't safe to drive, arrange a tow — we can point you in the right direction.
We're at 4715 N Stahl Park, Suite 105, San Antonio, TX 78217.
What if I'm a shop, not a vehicle owner?
Different answer entirely. If you're a professional repair shop, body shop, or fleet, we do come to you — plus remote programming and mail-in bench service.
